May 16, 2016 LambdaGeneration had a good interview in January with Black Mesa mapper Chon Kemp about Surface Tension Uncut. He’d previously made new versions of the levels as an add-on for the free mod version of Black Mesa, and has good things to say about how and why they’ve expanded Surface Tension in the commercial release. Black Mesa’s version re-imagines the original Crossfire map in Source, adding a ton of new visuals and details, complete with the same infamous nuclear bunker. The map architecture stays pretty much the same, there’s the big courtyard space full of balconies and weapons, and the open helipad space in-front of the bunker, with the iconic. align=centerSurface Tension Update - Patch 1/size/align Note: This update does not contain Xen. We are working on Xen! This is a small hotfix patch to resolve some of the issues with the Surface Tension Update. Programming/size CSM should now be functional and working correctly on AMD cards. French and Portugese translation/captions are added and fixed in the main menu. The song from Surface Tension - Uncut It is currently only available on Bandcamp: Or, you can always grab it out of the gam.

Surface Tension Formula
About the Soundtrack
After seven years, hundreds of hours and too many song revisions to count, the Black Mesa Soundtrack is finally released. Faced with the impossible task of creating a soundtrack that will pay homage to Half Life 1 and the millions of fans worldwide. From a slightly different perspective, I have tried to bring what I feel is the essence of Half Life, to Black Mesa.
I wanted to use new musical genres and styles in Black Mesa, while still maintaining a Half Life 'feel'. A few song re-makes were attempted, but there is no point in re-making something that is already a classic. I know I risk much composing a soundtrack so different, but I am hoping the community will come to like it almost as much as the original.
